It is certainly used as a social control mechanism. But that may be more subtle and multi-layered than we suppose. That the bugmen have been effectively corralled into giving up their freedoms over fear of infection is clear. But what of we who have seen through that deception?

We're scared of the manipulators who enacted this plan. What is their purpose? What will they do next? This fear, too, can serve as a control mechanism - inducing us to keep our heads down, or to act rashly, or to jump at shadows in the night.
The point is not that we should not know fear, only that we should not be ruled by it.
It could be simply people with a lot of money have limited investment options. Anything they buy immediately increases in price so much so what they bought needs to be financially manipulated to be sold for higher money for the desired profit. Bill Gates, Larry Fink, and all the investors of Vanguard have too much money with limited investment opportunities pushed this fascist injection event to produce an investment option. It worked financially. How much better could they have had it using government resources to promote the virus (fear) and also to promote the injection falsely as a cure. And to put the fascist cherry on the cake the government paid them directly by-passing normal market functions. These fascists must have enjoyed the best cigars and whiskey over the success.
But!
Manipulating the market blindfolded now they will have to deal with the carnage. The problem for them is if they succeed in imposing a totalitarian society, to hide their crimes, suffering and murder from thus injection event, they will have wrecked the market for their investments. people who own nothing is not a market to invest in. These Bugman pushed too hard and now are trapped in a Catch 22 is my view.
Oh, in passing they will say there are too many people on the planet anyway...
Now only revenge remains.
The thing about the future there are so many twists and turns that no one can know what will happen, not even the fascists with 1000 fortune tellers. My bet is the mere force of so many people pushing back will force them off the planet. They can go to Mars and grow potatoes.
See, my perception (rocketing fascists to Mars) can get a little weirder too.
Good point! On my own SS page, I just hooked up a thought that puzzled me for years to this topic/post... "Resist Not Evil," and my eventual conclusion of what that might mean, to be "Work Around It." When I used to be a member of the Christian religion, I enjoyed the conversations we sometimes had... one had to do with Fear. I believe that the term "Sin" is defined in Greek, maybe? as "missing the mark." Why would we miss the mark? It seems to me that all "sin" comes down to Fear.
I am so energized by these kinds of conversations, thank you for being involved, too, I like your posts as well, and am wondering why I haven't yet subscribed... I will do. ^_^
I have a similar take on the "resist not evil" idea. Sometimes the only way to win is to not engage. Walk away. Have nothing to do with such people. In business terms, you write them off. Write them out of the book of your life. You don't forgive them. You just forget them, and forget about what they cost you. Some people make the mistake of trying to get "justice" from the predators and parasites and users and losers who have done them wrong. In my experience all that happens when you try to get justice is, it costs you more. And you never get justice. Walk away. Write it off. Do not engage. "We are all one" and "universal salvation" my *ss. Jesus taught sheep and goats and divergent afterlife outcomes. "Christianity" teaches Divine Justice...but not in this life. Meanwhile, in this life, avoid the people who try to use and abuse you rather than try to "correct" them. They are not salvageable. ...unless they see the light and decide for themselves to mend their ways.
Yeah, I'm on a par with your take. I find the real challenge in trying to stop rolling the situation (whatever it is) over and over, trying to "answer"... There's a desire for justice, most definitely, and that seems to be what I need to "forgive," and as you say, in financial terms, forgiveness does not imply justice, nor does it imply future dealings... "Shake your sandals" comes to mind. I was raised as a Christian, and so often the sayings and ideas come to me from that format, but I do appreciate putting the concepts into different terms. It's helpful to broaden the perspective. Anyway, thanks for your take, it's pretty right ON, in my opinion!
Personally? I remind myself to not be overly frightened of them, or at least not to let concern cloud my thinking. However, I think a large fraction of the dissident sphere is indeed animated by fear of the illegitimate authorities and power centers.
Zackly. And I think they also fear losing their $$... This is why I think the best punishment would be to take it ALL, distribute it, and put those Nasties to work growing organic food for the poor, from within the confines of a prison setting...
Fear, as the great book says, is the mind killer.

(And thanks for the shout man, much appreciated!)

An excellent question, with an obvious answer: us.

Not money. Power. For those at the top, the latter is the thing they value above all else.
