Absolutely...at 88 years young, I have fought the fight since I was 15...man since his creation has attempted to control other men to do their bidding and we the unlearned ones have compromised our very souls just to get along. That time must end, now, wake up and act like your very existence depends on that action...because it does...

I have a friend who is 99, and though a retired lawyer, (or because) he cannot accept that there is a Busted News Initiative, or that these jabs just might be poison.
Now I wait, but to know that you are 88, and you never took the bait. You're great.
That salute was deprecated during FDR's presidency, but I doubt that this diminished the conformist mentality of your friend. I'll guess also that he would deny any adverse conditioning was associated with it. After all, lawyers are so special that they never become zombies of the USA's ruling class and their state.
Wow I of course never even heard about the salute change, schooled from 1968 onward...thanks Allan. Those images in your link are such a suprise to me...
I, too, was a little shocked when I first saw fotos of kids giving the American version of the Roman salute. Congress eliminated it in 1942. I think of this every time I watch some American politicians putting their right hands over their hearts and imagine them, instead, with their arms raised and outstretched.

Given your friend's age, if he was raised in the USA, he probably was goaded into performing this servile gesture as a child:
