I actually think that it's possible that the whole antifa thing was designed so people would not want to call themselves anti fascist because they would not want to be associated with antifa. And if people who are actually opposed to fascism don't call themselves anti fascist that means what they are opposed to isn't labeled as fascism. Labeling it as something other than fascism makes it easier for propaganda to flourish. Essentially, as with many things, the word fascism has been redefined. This helps it (real fascism) to masquerade as something else, at least word wise.
