In regard to China' Social Credit score, if you are an American citizen you should know that your FICO score largely serves the same purpose. What else? Since 2017 or so, if you landed in Shenzhen or Guangdong (and now, presumably also Shanghai, Beijing, etc), you -- ALL international travelers -- needed to submit to digital fingerprinting and face and passport scan to start the entry process into Customs and Immigration. Scary, right? A violation, right? USA Disney at least since 2010 has used biometrics and required a thumb print of anyone entering the park (compound). This focus on China can ignore what has been happening in the USA. Been happening for now two decades. You are tracked, tagged and rated. Using biometrics and a credit score. Period. If you've applied for a job in the USA recently, take a look at all the rights you sign away during the application process. China-bashing is a distraction.

Good points. With global entry they've also been selling convenience to extract fingerprints and biometric data from us citizens. They purposely keep customs lines long so people will opt for global entry in the fast lane

Let me add, a deserved bashing. But still a way of blinding people from what has been happening in their presumed Western democracies.
