What if everything we’re “discovering” and “inventing” now was already known many thousands of years ago? We’re just re-doing what has already been done.

I wonder about that often. If old discoveries or technologies are being "dripped" into reality and everything is simply repeated as in a cycle of civilizations, like wiping and rewriting a hard drive over and over again.
Or different civilizations rose, became technologically advanced then fell off?
Sumerian texts told of highly advanced scientific methods and known cosmology that we only “discovered” in the last couple centuries. Ancient Egyptian back to Mesopotamian scripts talk of history before the pyramids. Romans did brain and cataract surgeries, never mind their indoor plumbing and heating.
