Assuming you are a woman, with the name Marta, would you like to have your father marry you off with no say in the matter, do you feel you are too dumb to make choices? That women are responsible for all that has gone wrong in the last 100 years, rather than the ignorance of humanity to the universal laws? It was probably how you have reacted to his comment that was suprising, especially the added correction on his spelling (I don't think (unless it's meritorical) commenters really care since we are here to exchange views and ideas and not to learn about grammar and punctuation. That you felt the need to do it looked like driving "see how stupid and uneducated you are" to push your disagreement with what he said.
Maybe if you have given a thought like: 1. It comes from his life experience 2. This is historically long gone and not coming back. 3.We live in a truly strange times (re: social and general human interactions) 4.
