Through self discipline he transformed his body into an athelete. Simply because he had 1 goal, to play college baseball. It gave him a structure, and incentive to work harder at school. He graduated after a solid high school career and earned a scholarship at a juco. None of this would have been possible without sports. The idea that that’s the fathers job, is bogus. We only have so much control over our kids, unless your looking for a brainwashed bot. Parents can guide there children in the correct direction, but can’t be the only influence. Kids need independence, they need to make there own friends and make there own mistakes. Need to be exposed to everything. I 100% believe in the power of sports as a positive good.

If it weren't for sports my life could have gone sideways at an early age...like many kids from broken homes.
Sports gave me goals and discipline, and taught me focus and perseverance.
