My relatives on my dad's side lived through WWII in Europe. I now understand how people can become very hardened by living through a war.
Good point about how people before us had to live through wars that took their loved ones' lives. And we are in a kind of war... a spiritual, as well as a material one. Trouble is so many of us have become so soft and have never really suffered. Thanks for the reminder of how those who came before us had to find ways to pull through.
