Narratives of history must also be seen and understood for another very important feature -- they're also prologues. They form the basis for a false present and the basis for slowly chipping away at freedom.

In Florida, we had the legislature pass an anti-Semitism bill that formed the basis of the national bill, H.B. 6090, that just passed the U.S. House. This is the most odious piece of federal legislation in U.S. history, IMO and that of many, many others. Out of 201 voting "Republicans," 21 voted against in-your-face destruction of free speech. This piece of garbage legislation now sits with the scumbags in the U.S. Senate.

A current piece of legislation that chips at the First Amendment protection (allegedly) of free speech based on a grotesque lie that is "history" that "everybody knows."
