yea the black thugs in the nfl all got masters degrees. read the book pro and cons where he calls the SB a battle between crips and blood. many players gang bangers rapists druggies and dealers who had their crimes covered up since high school
Kinda funny. The team I follow in the NFL had their coach skip a day in training camp recently. Why? After 35 years he finally graduated from college, a promise he made to his mother.
I played with a guy in the pros who quit in the middle if the season because he got admitted to medical school.
Most of the guys I played with went on to become educated, solid citizens. One even had Disney make a fun movie based on his life.
I think you paint with a really broad stroke. But I suppose you see what you want to see...which is quite different to what I see on the inside.
Or maybe you got cut from your 8th grade team. I dunno.
IMO, amateur sports in the right context is a positive in today's society. We need more of it, and less Cheeto/TV time.
You are 100% correct. It fills idle time with something positive. My son was an average to below average student. A pudgy 13 year old. But he loved the game of baseball. Through self discipline he transformed his body into an athelete. Simply because he had 1 goal, to play college baseball. It gave him a structure, and incentive to work harder at school. He graduated after a solid high school career and earned a scholarship at a juco. None of this would have been possible without sports. The idea that thatтАЩs the fathers job, is bogus. We only have so much control over our kids, unless your looking for a brainwashed bot. Parents can guide there children in the correct direction, but canтАЩt be the only influence. Kids need independence, they need to make there own friends and make there own mistakes. Need to be exposed to everything. I 100% believe in the power of sports as a positive good.
It definitely helped my son, he wasn't going to play any sports. One day walking down the hall at high School the football coach asked him if he ever felt like playing, ever since that day, I've seen nothing but positive in my son. He also is awake, aware what's going on. I'm glad to see some of the younger generation having some insight of what's happening in the world and not getting indoctrinated or brainwashed by the narrative.
You really should read all of your comments on this post as a single thread - you might learn something about yourself, and some things you might be missing from the perspective of others.
what does that mean? I know myself and what I think and it will not change. I do not live in a dream world making a fantasy out of reality. I leave that thinking to the females
If it weren't for sports, I would never have earned two Master's degrees.
Growing up in a broken home as a kid, sports was MY way "out."

100% correct.
My parents were divorced, and there was only so much my mother could do.
If it weren't for sports my life could have gone sideways at an early age...like many kids from broken homes.
Sports gave me goals and discipline, and taught me focus and perseverance.
I wear the title "Coach" with both pride and responsibility.
