Yeah, well I'm likely one doc who breaks the mold. I too refused to compromise, wouldn't bill insurance, and paid heavily for my stance. Likely the poorest doctor you ever talked with! Didn't bother me too much, I was never one for the trappings of modernity anyhow. Knowledge has always been my jam.

And, no longer a physician in Portland. Them days are past!

It was a pleasant shock, mind you. I would have bet 100 bucks that no such physician existed in the robot radical cess pit capitol of North America. The irony of my situation, is that because of the scamdemic I now have more wealth than I have had in my life. Both my parents died from their clot shots. I expect all my siblings to follow shortly. Oregon is my own personal purgatory.

Kris, reading this exchange between you and the good doc (ex-doc!) has been cathartic. It's so easy to feel so alone in the world during these times, and yet people like you are out there.

So many of us are on track to experience what you are in the middle of - losing your parents, with other family members likely soon to follow. I dread waiting to see who in my family drops first. And the terrible thing is, my relations with each of them has been so terribly strained because of our disagreements over the scamdemic.

I'm sure there are many others out there in the same situation. It is some small comfort to know we are not really alone at all - just waiting to find each other.

So many people I know have died since 2021, that I just feel numb now, when I hear of another death. However, I've known what was coming since 1990. That's a long time to adjust to the reality that I would likely outlive everyone I know. I now look at the online obits several times a day. Btw, did you take your name from Anne of Green Gables?

I'm sorry to hear about the wave of deaths you're experiencing. You are right that it helps that you were somewhat mentally prepared... although I know I will still take it really hard once I start losing more people closer to me. How can you ever really be ready for what we're going through?

I took my name from the character Cordelia in Shakespeare's King Lear. She was the only female Shakespearean character I ever truly related to. If you know the story, she was someone who refused to lie even when doing so would have been to her (short-term) advantage. Thank you for the information about the Anne of Green Gables connection - i didn't know about it, but I like it!

Anne of Green Gables wishes her given name was Cordelia, so she adopts it as her middle name.

I have become very hardened after all I have been through in the last 34 years. I don't feel much when I learn of another death. I never wanted become as such...but it is, what it is. My relatives on my dad's side lived through WWII in Europe. I now understand how people can become very hardened by living through a war.

Good point about how people before us had to live through wars that took their loved ones' lives. And we are in a kind of war... a spiritual, as well as a material one. Trouble is so many of us have become so soft and have never really suffered. Thanks for the reminder of how those who came before us had to find ways to pull through.

I hope you can still keep a place in your heart soft. I don't know what it's like to go through what you have - yet - and I appreciate your sharing what the road ahead is going to be like. God bless you.
